I know I’m just an envious little sack of shit about it but I’m so burnt out on social media and people with heinous financial means doing art with outrageously expensive tools like commercial laser cutters or embroidery machines or whatever from their little mini mansions, who just never acknowledge that they are skipping like 1000 steps that everyone else has to do to produce their shit, and then treat it like a testament to their skill and not just like. ALTa couple nights ago I released WordHopper, a little arcade-like word game for pentium-era PCs running DOS (or Windows 9x, though ymmv).
it’s $2 (minimum $1), and can be purchased here! there’s also a demo you can try out in DOSBox, on real hardware, or online (NOTE: click the dosbox window as soon as possible to avoid a loud, short sound- I don’t know how to fix that, sorry!)

this was like 8 bucks???? obviously i did some redacting but Good Lord. if you are even a little bit into crochet go throw money at this absolute Mad woman its Definitely worth it.
back at it almost an entire year later. and i can now confirm she’s this insane in all of her patterns (there’s over 84 of them????) (<compliment)
she has also made a website since the first post (link) the patterns are cheaper there and the payment is handled through PayPal (and I’m guessing she gets a Way bigger cut of the money than with her Etsy so maybe check out the site instead) of the Etsy listed above.
also quick faq below the cut bc idk, supporting small businesses ran by WOC is important and this lady is rad. I just genuinely love her products and want more people to know about them.

🏳️🌈 Ruth Ellis (1899 - 2000) was the daughter of former slaves. She came out as a lesbian when she was 16-years-old to the complete acceptance of her family. In 1937, Ruth and her longtime partner moved to Detroit from their hometown of Springfield, Illinois for the promise of higher wages. There, she became the first woman in Michigan to run her own printing business. She printed fliers, posters, and stationary in the front room of her home, which also quickly became a hotspot for Black LGBTQ social life. Before long, Ruth was helping those who came around in any way she could, including by paying for college tuitions. After the Stonewall uprising, 70-year-old Ruth began giving speeches in support of gay and lesbian rights all across the country. She remained an activist for the rest of her long life and even spent her 100th birthday leading the San Francisco Dyke March. At the time of her death at 101, she was recognized as the oldest out lesbian in the US. She is the subject of the documentary “Living With Pride: Ruth C. Ellis @ 100” and is the namesake of the Ruth Ellis Center, a shelter for homeless and at-risk LGBTQ youth in Detroit.
